Zeolite is a natural product created through natural processes of millions of years. Its name comes from the ancient greek words “Ζέω” = boil και “Λίθος” = stone. Its characteristics and properties are so important that a lot of people characterize it magical. It is a porous mineral with tremendous ion exchange capacity and thanks to this, it can filter the water by binding of the metals and organic compounds.
According to researches, the zeolite can be applied:

    • As a 100% natural product it can be used in organic agriculture. Its beneficial effects are permanent since it does not degrade like other soil improvers.
    • Improves the structure and the soil’s texture.
    • Retains the moisture in sandy soils.
    • Acts as a storage of ammonia and increases the utility of nitrogen.
    • Enriches the soil with K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Al
    • Improves ventilation in clayey soils and contributes to the better growth of the plant’s root system.
    • Protects the olives from cycloconium oleaginum disease and the tomatoes, potatoes and cucumbers from the nematodes.
    • Binds the soil’s nutrients and keeps them close to the root system.
    • Improves the quality and the shelf life of the products.
    • Increases the production.

    • Improves the animals’ immune system
    • Helps to increase milk production and improve the quality of the meat
    • Restricts annoying smells in the manure.
    • Reduces the side effects of pesticides contained in animals’ nutrition.
    • Eliminates toxins through the digestive system.
    • Binds ammonia produced during the digestion of food

  • According to international literature the Zeolite, by absorbing the free radicals and bind heavy metals, toxins and organic compounds, can:

    • Used as metal supplement
    • Improves the function of the vital organs.
    • Creates a sense of wellness because it removes toxins.
    • Increases the energy and improves the absorption of the nutrients from the digestive tract.
    • Acts as a natural isotonic.
    • The body stores the toxins and heavy metals in fat therefore zeolite is useful for people which are on diet or do sports as it traps the toxins and heavy metals released by fat burning and doesn’t allow them through the body.
    • It eliminates harmful substances which enter the body from food, air and water.
    • Used to supplement the human diet.

    • It is used in cleaning effluent and waste.
    • Reduces water eutrophication .
    • It can successfully replace phosphates in detergents.
    • Zeolite absorbs nitrogen from the atmosphere which means that it can enrich the atmosphere with oxygen.

    • It can be used in filtering liquid industrial waste.
    • It helps recycling water which comes from the industries.
    • It is used in the filters for binding of CO2 and other harmful compounds.

    • It filters water and absorbs ammonia.

    • Absorbs the odors from pets containers.
    • In 2% percentage it can be contained in pets’ nutrition.

By using zeolite, the use of fertilizers can be reduced by 56%-100% and the use of water for irrigation by 33%-67%. It prevents the leaching of harmful substances from the terrestrial to the aquatic environment, reduces water eutrophication and protects the quality of surface and underground water

For production increase

The zeolite is applied to the soil in amounts of 100 to 500 kg for 3-5 consecutive years, depending on the granulometric texture and the content of soil organic matter.
By adding zeolite in agricultural soils the root system of the plants is improved and the production is increased by 29% -57% in wheat, 34% in rice, 50% in corn, 48% – 66% in grapes, 45% in kiwi fruit, 17% in cotton and 52% in tomato.

The use of zeolite in the stables’ floor in quantities 2-3 kg per m², results in the better absorbtion of ammonia, the reduction of harmful vapors and afterwards it can be used as fertilizer.

In poultry, there is an increase of nesting, and 7% increase in weight.
In cows’ milk production there is an increase by 17% .
The unique ability of zeolite to remove dangerous toxins is well established: It was used by the Russian Government to absorb radioactive chemicals and other harmful toxins after the Chernobyl disaster. People showed a 30% reduction in radioactive isotopes after the first application of zeolite.

As a basic fertilization the amount of zeolite depends on the pH values and the soil’s mechanical texture for each cultivation.

In vegetables 2 kg /10m² can be added.

In ornamental plants (pots) you can add ½ to 2 hollows depending on the size. In trees you can add 2-5 kg and for spraying 25 kg/1tn of water. ( Spraying has mycological insect repellent oviparous action)

In outdoor cultivations you can add 80-100 kg/acre.

In particularly heavy soils, in order to achieve noticeably increased production, zeolite needs to be implemented in soil in quantities of 400-500 kg/acre. Its effective action and its benefits are long term (zeolite does not disintegrate like other materials), so for the next 4 to 5 years no addition of zeolite is needed.

To create mixture for nurseries, pots and plants, add 1% zeolite to the volume material, or add 10 kg per m3 of soil.

For spraying add 2% zeolite’s powder.

Zeolite’s types:

• Powder for sprayning on leaves and for livestock use
• 0,01-0,8 mm size, for agricultural use and for enrichment of the animals’ feed
• 0,8-2,5 mm size, in livestock
• 2,5-5,0 mm size, for soil’s fertility improvement, as an improver in chemical fertilizers in 2-5% and in aquaculture.
